Dispelling the “15 Second” Video Myth
We’ve read on more than a few sites that state the video clips you can shoot with the PSP Camera are limited to 15 seconds in length, which is total nonsense. The real limit is 20 minutes, at which point the video autosaves and if your memory card is big enough you can start shooting video again right away. At 20 minutes the filesize of the video AVI is over 2GB, which is the real limit. The PSP Camera can’t create individual videos over 2GB in size.
So where does this misconception of a 15 second limit originate? The PSP video editing software, Go!Edit only creates 15 second clips. However when you access the camera via the XMB and shoot video you can create clips as long as 20 minutes.
Here’s a beautiful 30 second clip of the ocean we shot while in Florida just to prove the point. Enjoy!

I get significantly longer than 20 minutes before hitting the 2GB limit. I have taken movies (helmet cam on my motorbike) for well over an hour on the highest quality settings
